After a dearth of international competition due to COVID-19, the fixtures are set to come thick and fast in 2022 starting with the Asia Oceania Zone Championships in Thailand this week. 

Wollongong Roller Hawks captain Brett Stibners says there’s no expectations for his NSW team when it lines up at Australia’s premier underage wheelchair basketball tournament, the Kevin Coombs Cup, in Ballarat next week.

Brett Stibners will use Australia’s premier junior wheelchair basketball tournament as a litmus test to see if a future in coaching beckons. 

It is with much disappointment that the Sureway Wollongong Roller Hawks share the news that the 2021 National Wheelchair Basketball League season has been officially cancelled.

On the 29th October 2000, the curtain was drawn on one of Australia’s proudest moments. For six weeks Sydney had hosted the world with the most successful Olympic and Paralympic Games ever.

The Seekers were the closing act and as Judith Durham‘s voice rang out across the stadium singing ‘The Carnival is Over’, for the Wollongong Roller Hawks, things were just getting started.
