The Sureway Wollongong Roller Hawks have received a boost to their community engagement programs after receiving a grant through Stockland CARE Grants. 

The Sureway Wollongong Roller Hawks’ Paralympic hopefuls are relieved to hear the 2020 games have been postponed in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The men’s National Wheelchair Basketball League (NWBL) and Women's National Wheelchair Basketball League (WNWBL) seasons have been put on hold with league management to use a 30 day period to look at what options are available to proceed with the 2020 season in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Australia’s men’s wheelchair basketball team, the Rollers, have claimed gold at the 2019 Asia Oceania Championships in Thailand and secured their place at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Meanwhile the women’s team, the Gliders, won silver and also booked a ticket to Japan after missing the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.

Roller Hawks’ captain Brett Stibners departs for Spain today as he takes up a contract with top flight Spanish team BSR Valladolid.
