Wheelchair basketball is a fairly unique sport with the classification system levelling the playing field for female players to play with male players.
Throughout our history numerous female players have played for the club including current Roller Hawk Hannah Dodd who says her rise through the ranks has been accelerated by mixing it with the boys.
However women and girls playing against men isn’t always in the best interests of developing female players nor the growth of the women’s game.
Soar 4 More provides a new focus for female players and female participation in the Illawarra. Our goal is to develop an all female squad that can train together on a weekly basis and compete in all-female competitions around the country including:

- WSNSW HER SPORT Spring Festival
- Sunshine Coast Spinners Women’s Carnival
- Basketball Australia Women's Development Minicamps
- WNWBL
As well as mixed competitions including:
- Club Challenges
- Country Cup
- Waratah League
- Kevin Coombs Cup
