The Wollongong Roller Hawks and Just Better Care Illawarra & Southern Highlands are excited to announce a two year extension of their Naming Rights partnership.
The agreement is a huge milestone for the Roller Hawks who traditionally have only had year to year arrangements with sponsors.
“This is massive,” said Roller Hawks Club President Geoff Adams. “When I first got involved with the Roller Hawks we didn’t have a naming rights sponsor and now to lock in Just Better Care for two years, it’s amazing!”
“It’s a confidence booster for everyone at the club, it means we can plan with confidence and start investing in longer term ideas.”
“We are thrilled to be back on board and partner with the Wollongong Roller Hawks for the third consecutive year as their naming sponsor and further to this we have secured a two-year deal,” said Jason Ballerini, Just Better Care Illawarra & Southern Highlands Managing Director.
Just Better Care Illawarra & Southern Highlands is locally owned and operated, providing affordable and accessible services that meet local and individual requirements.
Just Better Care specialises in Aged Care with support services including In-Home Nursing and Home Care Packages; Disability Support helping NDIS participants with a range of services focussed on maintaining independence; and Private Care.
“We wanted to provide stability and assurance to the club and players, enabling them to focus on their sport with the knowledge that we genuinely believe in their abilities and potential. By committing to a two-year partnership, it demonstrates our dedication to our community and our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their dreams and our belief in the incredible work they do both on and off the court,” said Ballerini.
The Wollongong Roller Hawks are an independent, not-for-profit entity. Sponsorship from private businesses makes up 80% of the senior team’s annual budget.
“For it to be with an operator like Jason and an organisation like Just Better Care Illawarra & Southern Highlands is special. The financial backing is vital, but it’s the integration that is really important. Having Just Better Care staff and clients at games, at our fundraising nights, showing their support, that means so much to the players and the club,” said Adams.
“Last month we were at the Festival of Fun at UOW, introducing new people to the game and there we were side by side, we had a great time. Having that vested interest in each other makes it such a worthwhile collaboration.”
The two year extension will see the Just Better Care logo remain on the front of the Roller Hawks jersey as the team takes on the best wheelchair teams from around the country in the National Wheelchair Basketball League.
The season begins on June 27th with the Just Better Care Roller Hawks travelling to Sydney to take on the Manly Wheel Eagles.
“The national league has undergone massive change for the better in the last two years with the arrival of Wheelchair Basketball Australia. The sport and the profile is growing. Having the support of Just Better Care means the Roller Hawks can remain at the forefront of that, continuing to compete at the highest level and providing opportunities for people with a disability in the Illawarra,” said Adams
At a developmental level, the Roller Hawks are aiming to attract more junior and female players and are keen to attract some of Just Better Care’s clients to take up the sport.
“This year, we aim to build upon this partnership and encourage our customer base and staff to attend games and increase our community engagement. We hope that these fans will actively participate in the Roller Hawks’ development pathways, and will result in future champions,” said Ballerini.
“As a business owner with a disability and a passionate sports enthusiast, this partnership aligns seamlessly with my personal interests and values. It creates the perfect blend between a business, a remarkable community team, and myself, making it an obvious choice for continued sponsorship.”
