The Wollongong Roller Hawks are pleased to announce the return of RGK Wheelchairs as Gold Sponsor of the side in 2025.
This year will be RGK’s third with the Roller Hawks and second as Gold Sponsor which will see the world’s premier manufacturer of sports chairs continue to adorn the back of jersey.
“I’m so excited to have RGK back,” said Roller Hawks Club President Geoff Adams.
“RGK are world leaders in the manufacturing of sports wheelchairs and that association elevates the Roller Hawks. We sit alongside the best in the world and having key partnerships like this pushes us to keep working and keep striving to be the best.”
In addition to returning as a major team sponsor, RGK will once again provide five individual player sponsors.
“We’re thrilled to renew our partnership with the Wollongong Roller Hawks for the 2025 season,” said Commercial Director for Australia & New Zealand, Matt Butterworth.
“Supporting both the team and several individual athletes reflects our deep commitment to empowering players with equipment tailored to their performance needs.”
“At RGK, wheelchair basketball is part of our DNA. We were founded in 1988 by former athletes. We've spent over 30 years designing made-to-measure sports chairs that push the boundaries of innovation and performance. Our collaboration with the Roller Hawks aligns seamlessly with our global efforts to advance the sport, including our partnerships with the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation and sponsorship of events like the Wheelchair Basketball World Championships.”
The club recently purchased a set of new RGK chairs specifically for female players thanks to a federal government grant, with all chairs fully adjustable to cater to a range of heights and body types.
“To have a global brand like RGK investing in the Roller Hawks means so much. Not only investing but also making sure our players, from our star Roller Hawks right down to beginners have access to the best and more importantly, most suitable equipment is incredibly valuable,” said Adams.
“Together, we’re not just supporting a team—we’re championing the growth and excellence of wheelchair basketball worldwide,” added Butterworth.
The NWBL season is only eight weeks away with the Just Better Care Roller Hawks travelling to Sydney to take on the Manly Wheel Eagles on June 27th.
